Holiday Program Info
DATES: Our next school holiday workshops will be held in October, 2012.

TIMES: Morning workshops run from 9.00 am - 11.45 am. Afternoon workshops run from 12.30 pm - 3.15 pm. Full day workshops run from 9.00 am - 3.15 pm. Morning and afternoon sessions include a snack break.

VENUE: Workshops will be held at Murdoch College, Campus Drive (off South Street), Murdoch. A map can be seen below and maps of parking facilities will be sent to participants.

COST: Half day (morning or afternoon) workshops are $42 per person. Full-day workshops are $85 per person. These prices include the materials costs of the workshops and GST.

AGE GROUPINGS: There are two general age groupings for students. Workshops for junior students are suitable for 6 - 8 year-olds. Five year-olds who are highly capable, independent and able to concentrate for the duration of the workshop will also be accepted. Senior workshops are suitable for 9 - 13 year-olds. If you are unsure about whether your child is ready to participate yet or not, please talk to the program director, Saani.

WHAT IF MY CHILD WANTS TO DO TWO WORKSHOPS ON THE SAME DAY?
Scheduling is always a juggling act with the school holiday program! If your child wants to do two workshops which are both on the same day, enroll them in whichever is their first choice and then let Saani know by email that your child would be keen to do the other workshop if anything changes with our schedule. If there are enough students who want to do a workshop on another day, we may be able to run it twice.

WHAT TO BRING: Students in half-day workshops will need to bring morning or afternoon tea and a water bottle. Students in full-day workshops will need to bring morning and afternoon tea, lunch and a water bottle. Specific items that students may need to bring are listed in the workshop descriptions and in the enrolment confirmation document.

It is recommended that students wear comfortable clothing which will allow them to move freely and participate in dynamic, hands-on and sometimes messy activities. Students are also encouraged to bring balls, frisbees or other appropriate sports gear or games to play with during breaks. No video games please. Some students bring books to read which is fine too.

HOW THE DAY WILL GO: Students and parents arrive approximately 10 minutes before the workshop is due to start and gather together in a reception room (you will be provided with details in your enrolment information) and students will be given a name tag. The program director will welcome students and parents and inform students of general rules and boundaries. The teachers will then be introduced and will take their classes to their room. At the end of the day, parents can collect their children from the reception room. During the day, students will have breaks for morning and afternoon tea and lunch. They will be supervised by a teachers or program director at all times.

TEACHERS: All of our teachers have Working With Children police clearances. We have chosen teachers we are confident are great at working with young people, passionate about their subject area, dynamic and talented.
